Scotstoun has played host to a number of international athletics and badminton events and is home to the National Badminton Academy where Scotland’s bets badminton athletes are based. The venues are renowned for their atmosphere during major events and for the quality of facilities available for athletes.

Sports Centre

Scotstoun is one of Scotland’s most prestigious sports facilities and has a wide range of facilities including: sports halls, swimming pools, indoor and outdoor tennis courts, fitness suites and a number of outdoor synthetic pitches.

In addition to facilities currently available, a number of major developments are planned in the run up to the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games. New squash courts and a new table tennis arena will be built to further enhance the quality of facilities available for athletes to access.

National Badminton Academy

The National Badminton Academy is a world class training facility comprising a 4 court and 6 court halls. The facility also has a performance gym and an overhead camera to analyse aspects of player’s performance. The academy provided excellent training and practice facilities for the world’s top players when the Sudirman Cup was held in Glasgow at the Scotstoun International Sport Arena in 2007.

Scotstoun Stadium

The outdoor stadium has recently undergone a full refurbishment costing £19.1m. The track and athletics facilities have been replaced and the stadium has been completely redeveloped and now includes a performance gym and indoor running strip for athletes. Along with Scotstoun’s other facilities, the complex is truly world class and capable of catering for athletes from a wide variety of sports.
