With a reputation for producing some first rate students golfers, access to truly stunning courses and some of the best practice facilities in the UK, Glasgow has much to offer those serious about developing their golf.

Clubs and Facilities

Within Glasgow city lie in excess of 20 golf courses, with many more located immediately beside or close by the city boundaries. Most notably, situated within less than an hour’s drive of Glasgow, lie some of the world’s finest golf courses.

Turnberry

Home to the iconic Ailsa, an Open Championship course four times over, Turnberry offers one of the world's great golfing experiences. Watson, Norman, Price and Cink have all won the famous Claret Jug here. The Ailsa is currently ranked as Britain's number one golf course by two leading golf publications and consistently rated within the world's best. Toyal Troon

Located in Troon on the west coast of Scotland overlooking the Isle of Arran, Royal Troon Golf Club is one of the great links courses in Scotland and plays host to The Open Championship. The course is close to the ferry port at Troon and only a few minutes from Prestwick Airport. The course lies within 30 minutes from the centre of Glasgow for those working in or visiting the city. Glasgow Gailes

The 9th oldest golf course in the world is tough, fair and traditionally Scottish with wild heather and gorse define the fairways and the greens are guarded by strategically placed bunkers. Sandy Lyle, former Open and Masters Champion describes the course as “one of the world’s truly great tests of links golf’ and it has been selected by the R&A as a final qualifying venue for The Open Championship every time it has been at Royal Troon and Turnberry. Training Facilities

In addition, there are a number of first class driving ranges easy accessible around the city suitable for all levels. Whether it’s short game areas, heated bay areas, fully automatic ball feeders with PGA qualified instructors on site, midweek practice sessions during the winter months are readily available.

Coaching

Whether it’s local club coaches or those who have coached Open winners, there is an extensive pool of coaching expertise located in and around Glasgow. Local and national development squads provide development opportunities for talented athletes throughout their development.
